I am praying you are all staying warm on these bitterly cold winter days and nights- my heart hurts for any of God’s creatures who do not have a safe and warm space to go. You may have heard that our St. Matthew’s family is caring for the friendly little grey kitty that so enjoyed her chicken and waffle takeout last week- many, many thanks to those who helped build her a safe shelter and have food handy for her- you are angels among us. We’re going to have a naming contest for her soon- stay tuned!

 I am so looking forward to everything we will share together tomorrow-Sunday, February 5- we have our monthly breakfast at nine am, and then our service of Holy Eucharist at 10am, where we’ll welcome our Scouts, their leaders and their families for Scout Sunday, AND then coffee hour afterwards where we’ll have time to hear more about scouting from our friends. It is such a gift to be able to share this time with them-we are so glad that they use our space for their weekly meetings!-and some of the Scouts will be involved in the service as readers, greeters, etc., which will be a real joy. Please do plan to be with us. We love it when you’re here!

DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR CANDLES TO BE BLESSED TOMORROW- there is a table by the chancel steps you can put them on. And check out all the announcements in your bulletin- we have lots going on!

I wanted to invite you to please reach out for prayer, or conversation, or a home visit if it’s challenging for you to join us in person, so that we stay connected and get to know each other better. I am so glad to be meeting more and more of you all the time- please do stop by on my office day (Tuesdays, about 11am to 5pm or so) or we’ll make an appointment for a time that suits you.
